Regional Accreditation
Guilford Technical Community College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate degrees. GTCC also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Questions about the accreditation of GTCC may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097, by calling 404-679-4500, or by using information available on SACSCOC's website (www.sacscoc.org).
The Commission is to be contacted only if there is evidence that appears to support an institution’s significant non-compliance with a requirement or standard.
Guilford Technical Community College programs are required to report to the Office of Instruction immediately any decision of accreditation status (e.g., reaffirmation of accreditation, request for additional information, request for a progress report, an imposition of public sanctions, etc.). Since the last reaffirmation, Guilford Technical Community College has not voluntarily withdrawn accreditation from any U.S. Department of Education (DOE) recognized accrediting agencies, and no agencies have taken negative actions against any Guilford Technical Community College programs. Should this happen, the Office of Instruction will inform SACSCOC and all other USDOE recognized accrediting agencies.
In addition to regional accreditation with SACSCOC, many individual programs are approved and/or accredited by external agencies. See the list of accredited programs.
