Yectli (left) and Tonalmitzin Guzman-Perez are active in the International Club at GTCC. They say they hope to share the kindness that was shown to them when they first came to GTCC.

Yectli and Tonalmitzin Guzman-Perez moved to Greensboro from Mexico in 2021 because of their dad's job. They were excited to begin their studies at Guilford Technical Community College, but they were also nervous. They faced a language barrier, cultural differences, and changes in everyday life, such as finding a grocery store, choosing a pharmacy, and other things. Now, they're helping others in the same situation.

GTCC featured the siblings in a story on Sept. 24. Now, WGHP Fox 8 TV interviewed them for a news broadcast as part of its Hispanic Heritage Month celebration.

Originally aired on WGHP Fox 8.
