Through its partnership with GTCC, HondaJet trains students to work in the aviation field. One example of the program is GTCC alumnus Shanyia Mcintosh, who now works at HondaJet.

The HondaJet Elite II, the newest model of Honda Aircraft Company's award-winning and innovative very light jet, was named the "Coolest Thing Made in N.C.," in a contest held by the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce.

These jets are made at HondaJet's global headquarters in Greensboro where some GTCC students have apprenticeships to learn about aviation engineering and manufacturing through FAME (Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education).
